Instagram Diary Entry #001

Cottages seem to crop up in children's literature a few times, if the princess can't have a castle then she'll probably settle for a nice little cottage in the woods like Snow White. Perhaps this lead to my dream of one day growing old in a calm small house with a traditionally red roof and oak doors, of course surrounded by the tranquillity of nature. But ever since I was a little girl cottages in the countryside, near parks and lakes have always been appealing to me. Whether it be because of the light stone-coloured bricks, the colourful flowers blossoming outside or even the warm cosy fire I've always imagined roaring inside, cottages have always seemed like comfortable sanctuaries; a get-away from the outside world. I've always lived near a big nature reserve with beautiful streams and pathways but it would be a nice change of scenery to live in the midst of it all. One day, perhaps, I'll find the perfect little cottage, but until then I'll continue with my musings.

Serenity

These are my latest photographs from the weekend. There was a certain serenity in the air for sure, and I have captured them in these photographs. I am working on this certain painting, as you can see in the photographs; it is not completely finished yet, but what are your opinions? Painting and photography are two of my most favourite things, they keep me calm and sane and allow me to explore my creativity. It's one of those skills which you just develop, you can never be taught a natural skill.

The location in which I am painting in is just before a stunning balcony overlooking the rolling hills of the countryside. It's peaceful and a great source of inspiration. There is a little clot of trees overlooking the balcony, which has stemmed a lot of inspiration for this painting. I will keep you updated on future projects.

Instagram Diaries

Instagram is an application (used to capture the image below) that is now widely available on many smart phones. As I have an iPhone it's a very practical app which is easy to use and allows you to quickly manipulate photos with different filters and a focus ring. This is app, for me, is one of my favourites for quick, on-the-go photography when you just don't have the time of effort to whip out a DSLR.

I really enjoy photography and would recommend this application to everyone. Although the camera on iPhones aren't amazing, albeit, they are commendable. The filters that can be applied to the photos can bring out the lighting and emphasise any point.

Spontaneous photography may perhaps be when the best photographs are taken, even in the most unlikely places. Seeing that green landscape or colourful scene and capturing the photo at just the right time is no easy feat but all you need is a camera and you're off! Photography is something everyone should try; some enjoy it more than others, some find it naturally more easy than others but even so, it is the quality and meaning of the photo to the photographer themselves that truly matters. Some photographers focus on joinery, some on black & white imagery, some on landscape and nature etc. but all photographs capture a moment in time that will never return making them sentimental and each perceiving something completely different.

In the future, brace yourself for my photo diaries.

Mind Play

Eternal adj. Without end.

I would think of my mind as an eternal archive.
My name is Nezi and this is my first ever blog post so I'll keep it brief. I am a keen artist and photographer and I will often post my latest projects and inspirations here. Another passion of mine is reading, writing and culture. Music-wise, I have recently acquired a liking for Lana Del Rey. I can't dress to save my life, however, I do have an interest in fashion; moreover, fashion and photography. A lot of my work is displayed on many fashion blogs. I easily tend to ramble on and often talk about random nonsense so just bear with me.

Yours eternally,
